The following was seen in OCPA News #129 (26-3-05). Since the end of
colonisation, there have been a number of multi-state African conferences,
expert meetings, etc. on subjects of language planning, harmonization of
transcription of African languages, African language use in education, and
relatd subjects. This is one of the most recent (for a list of many of the past
ones, with documentation for many of them, see
http://www.bisharat.net/Documents/ ). An English translation of the news item
from OCPA News follows, with the French original after that.
