Today in Black History comes from the maelstrom server at St. Johns. My
understanding is that the tragedy in New York knocked out a major Verizon
node (not the word I want, but you get the picture) that took out most of
St. John's Internet services, including maelstrom, for most of last week
(this from the listserv list owners list).

Then this week, the Nimda virus hit and took out several servers including
mailing list servers. I haven't heard that St. Johns was affected, but it's
quite possible that they took a hard one-two punch over the past two weeks.
I haven't heard anything from F. Leon Wilson or the Spectralinks list (on
the same server) either.
