*Aussie ad campaign* Explanation: The TAC is the Traffic Accident Commission a department of my Victorian state government. What you see are genuine ads, not one ad but a compilation of parts of many different TAC ads, if anything the ones showing now of a father suffering the loss of his son are even harder hitting. The TAC ads are aired all through the year not just at Christmas. The ads are very powerful but are not the only reason for the reduced road toll, other reasons are being very tough on drink driving with a maximum blood alcohol concentration of 0.05 and being very tough on speeding and having speed cameras, radar speed detectors and now laser speed detectors everywhere.
I actually received the below email from and American friend, I didn't know such a compilation was on the web. This is perhaps one of the most intense commercials that I've ever seen and well made. I hope that by passing this along to others, it will make a difference. Australia should be complemented on having the guts to "tell it like it is" and get this campaign out to all of its licensed drivers and to air it on TV...it is very moving so it has a very strong impact.
