Present all-digital systems don't do bidirectional computing, so this must
be simulated - which is VERY slow. Also, digital systems have poorer
response times.

It appears (to me) that neurological computing works a lot like "quadruple
entry bookkeeping", where information is communicated as transactions, with
stuff going BOTH ways.
