Sorry, that's just nonsense. Consciousness is what thinking feels like.
That feeling evolved so that you would fear dying, just like every other
animal.

AGI is a very hard engineering problem. It will take a lot of computing
power, software, and data collection to reproduce human behavior. If you
succeed, the result will appear to be conscious as a result of appearing to
be human. Consciousness is not some magic shortcut to AGI.
