Groups of people are more intelligent than any of their members. But this
only works if the members think they are smarter than the group. Otherwise
all the members would make the same decisions individually.

That's true whether you measure intelligence by prediction accuracy (e.g.
prediction markets), dollars per hour, or log(knowledge in bits) +
log(computing power in OPS x bits)

We don't know if calorie restriction extends life expectancy in humans. It
took decades to learn that it does in one of two groups of monkeys. We
don't know if eating meat extends or shortens life. We don't know if
statins or blood pressure drugs or any other drugs or supplements extend or
shortens life. Kurzweil is spending $1 million per year on supplements in
order to live to see the Singularity. Not one of them is clinically proven
to help.

Quantum computing will not accelerate neural networks. It is mostly useless
for AGI. However, it will break most crypto. For example, you could use
Shor's algorithm to reveal Bitcoin private keys or Grover's to vastly
accelerate mining.
