Furthermore, you can do a turing test on a visual compressor if you want to. It would need to have the AGI components though and not just be a compressor. So possibly Lossless Compressor isn't a full evaluation (maybe!, because it does use Online Learning etc, which is profoundly surprising!). This visual AGI would not answer our replies because it would only know images, in this example. But it could still talk, and we could watch it's thoughts of it's plans and its focus.
So the real full test would be survival then. Long term analysis. But untrue. There is a turing test that can be done for vision or text. But it isn't about fooling humans in thinking it is a human, it is about making them as happy as possible by sharing big discoveries. What good is a AI that passes the test and doesn't make you happy?
