Once AGI surpasses human level intelligence, all bets are off. What's off? ???
'Human birth' didn't keep it's exponential trend but overall 'globally' our development (birth, manufacturing, chip speed, better ideas) is exponential and not dying yet. Not only will the first AGIs have luxurious abilities, but the ability to clone on more hardware. We need a energy efficient and replicating hardware. How do we make that? AGI is 50% of the puzzle! We will need lots of microscopic data, arms, and eyes, and brains to fabricate it, we'll need our best minds/big systems to tackle it as it is a team job. I.e. AGIs with tons of data and big companies. So we can invent AGI but we need to scale it, and to do that we/the AGIs need to invent yet more ideas for *how to more quickly find better ideas* as we are too slow right now. Our mind along with R&D is the best place to work at and improving our short cut finding ability is the next best thing to work on.
