The future will be darker and colder, the universe is expanding and we also live longer because of that idea. We moved out of living in the water because it was too hot and chaotic, things weren't where you predicted they'd be. So maybe space with no gravity will be our next habitat. If things stay where you put them or stay in motion, then you don't need light wasted and can navigate almost blindfolded. Things that are cold live longer as well and stay where predicted. Statues can live very long. Our intelligence is fluid in both brain and body and is bendable because that counter-intuitive motion fights adversarial "heat" that battles us such as tigers, etc. So we can be statues when its safe, but must act when acted upon.
