AMD has announced their 6000 series today. The 6900 will be available in
mid December, so start shopping for these in January - Febuary time frame.

The 6900XT blows the 3090 out of the water in some numbers. The AMD
design relies more on a high performance cache, while Nvidia relies
mostly on a high performance memory bus.

Nvidia will likely be forced into an early refresh in the May-June
timeframe. They are already pushing their Ampere architecture to its
redline (some room for a process node shrink) so I expect their next
architecture caled "Hopper" will be their response. AMD seems to be
settling into an anual release clock and will probably release a 7000
series in ~15 months, so spring 2022.
