The immediate issue is whether I can do anything efficiently useful using 
combinations of binary and trinary numbers that could be used in a future 
analog computer that was able to represent numbers in different n-ary forms. If 
I could that would be weak preliminary evidence that the no-free-lunch 
conjecture was limited to single n-ary systems of representation.
