Well, with AGI, or any AI, there is only it doing Prediction given some Context. Scoring AI using evalautions only measures how good it predicts, you can use Lossless Compression, or Perplexity, to do that, or simply view its completion to ex. a sentence. There is no compression in any AI. Only the developer is making the AI's neural network small so it can fit in RAM, and that happens to be done by using tree tries and such, that seem like some form of compression. As for can you decompress exactly the same complete file after compression, yes. What is lost? Probably some sanity, electricity, and some lifespan. When you move a stack of bricks back into a tower, it takes work, redundancy does too, but takes little work to smash the tower of Legos down. The big bang was the hottest part of our evolution, we still get some random moments but we try to do more organization now and actually end up with more and we don't lose it to a smashed down tower of bricks. We are gaining compression, not losing order. Entropy in our universe is lowering. ------------------------------------------ Artificial General Intelligence List: AGI Permalink: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/T5ff6237e11d945fb-Mcf51113226bf7671cf5ff8c6 Delivery options: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/subscription
