The link's not dead; the content is just private. You can see the logo,
just no content unless you're a member. (I have noticed that it fails
for some browsers lately though.)
Same for the git repos. They don't have to be public for them to exist
at all. Both the group on GitHub and the group on Bitbucket are owned by
me, linked to my personal accounts on the corresponding sites, where my
email address can be found. That much is public.

Not gonna lie - if I were on the business end of this, I would treat
it as "up for grabs". It's not particularly possible to identify who
owns it (neither of the two code sites have a user, the domain name is
obscurred with defunct link and without whois owner) - what would you
expect someone to do? Find people that link a defunct GitHub on
LinkedIn and then contact them? How?
I'm giving the point to Ben here. If you want to be able to be found,
you have to make it easier. A registered trademark or clear whois
goes a long way here.
