My personal definition of intelligence is, "the ability to discern facts about
oneself and one's environment, and to derive from those facts the actions that
will be most effective for achieving one's goals." By this definition, a true
intelligence could behave very differently from a human. It would merely need
different goals. I think humans fill only one corner of a large space of
possible intelligent agents.
