It's nice to reminisce about a world that doesn't exist any more. Your favorite girl was replaced by a self checkout aisle. And good luck approaching her without being accused of sexual harassment. There is a 25% chance she is LGBTQ or non binary anyway (among young people). Better to go through a dating app, but even that is risky. And who even knows their neighbors? The world where we do care about each other, AI is giving us the opposite. Unlike people, AI is always available, helpful, and entertaining. You won't need people for anything, and nobody will know or care if you exist. where we don't run breathless after blooded money, and where the very > institution of money is a relict of the ages when the majority people lived > in a poverty. > That's one thing technology is doing right. It is ending poverty. We have more stuff, cheaper stuff, stuff that was impossible a few decades ago. Global life expectancy went from the 30s to 73 in the last century. Obesity is more common among the poor than the rich. But not by eliminating money (other than cash). The poor get richer when the rich get richer faster. That's how the economy works. It wouldn't work if life was fair. ------------------------------------------ Artificial General Intelligence List: AGI Permalink: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/T17fa3f27f63a882a-M981cbaa23aa29659f480a69d Delivery options: https://agi.topicbox.com/groups/agi/subscription
