The two definitions of intelligence are the Turing test and Legg and
Hutter's universal intelligence. By one measure, computers can at best only
equal human intelligence but never exceed it. By the other measure,
computers surpassed humans 70 years ago.

But don't get hung up on the definition. The goal is not intelligence. The
goal is to give us everything we want. That requires knowing what you want,
which requires making a copy of your brain, which is happening faster now
than ever before.

The good news is that since you can't compare human and machine
intelligence, there won't be a fast takeoff.
