Hello again,
I'm fascinated with AGI/CogSci and I would like to help the singularity in this areas. I'm a student of third year of mathematics in Uniwersity of Warsaw, Poland. I don't see big possibilities in this areas of science in my country so I would like to study and do research abroad (possibly in USA). I thought about every post that everyone emailed and came to a conclusion. I think that doing AGI research could be maybe too hard for me for now. As I read in some of your emails this field doesn't have yet a common paradigm and you have to have your own ideas on AGI and strongly belive in them. I'm not sure if I have it yet... So I came to a conclusion that I would rather for now pursue the "understand the brain and make smart algorithms" approach to AGI. Here is my question, mostly for those of you that are cognitive sciencentist/neuroscietists: where are the best research programs and B.A./PhD programs in this field of science? Especially if I would like to be a part of Whole Brain Simulation (Randal Koene), Blue Brain Project or some othe project that really wants to make intelligent machines by understanding the brain. For example: I'm now interested in UCSD - they say they have really good CogSci department and high quality research. I will greatly appreciate every comment. I even asked Ray Kurzweil this question when he was in Warsaw on his "Singularity is Near" Europe premiere but he didn't give me any advices... You are my best source of expert information that's why I post my question here. And sorry if my post is too egocentrical. I hope that maybe it could encourage other young mind researchers and provide them with important information? :-) Thank you, Mikolaj Jaroszewicz ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/8660244-d750797a Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=8660244&id_secret=8660244-6e7fb59c Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
