It was certainly a historic occasion, right up there with watching the moon landing on Sun.20.JULY.1969 -- when I was at Sandia Base, New Mexico, studying electronics for (in my view) my AI project, but in the U.S. Army's view, for my work as a nuclear Weapons Electronics Technician.
IBM Watson got a few answers wrong, sayin the Latin word "finis" instead of "terminal" for the end of something. Otherwise, IBM Watson seemed eerily omniscient, even knowing more about the Beatles than I did (or at least faster than I could summon my knowledge). The contest between IBM AI and Homo sapiens continues for two more evenings.
