Dear Ben,

I am glad you decoded the brain as far back as 1998, it's been bugging me for 
the longest of times ;) What I think is missing from neurocommentary and 
neurospeculation I read left and right is this: "I know that performing 
experiments A, B, C, and ... will conclusively prove/disprove X".

So, something akin to a vision or a research programme. In a recent TV program 
there was this unconvincing dude saying "immortality? Sure, I'll slice and dice 
and measure your brain cells and will put them together later". I dont know if 
it is a recipe for immortality, but it still looks like a tiny step towards 
**understanding** the brain, it could still be easier to solve chess than 
reverse engineer a network of billions of cells. 

Lets not waste this, the brain, the largest sex organ, in the pursuit of AGI. 
Instead use it for what it's meant to: the wild thing!
