enable you to convert 100,000,000 retinal dots into one single word `mother'
in one tenth of a second?" The 100M dots of light are a causal set, and it
gets transmitted to the brain via the optical nerve.
Same old narrow-AI mentality - assuming AGI is about dealing with the **same
old & familiar.** Mother.
The central question is more like: how do you deal with something you
*don't* recognize - something you/your brain *don't* know how to
categorize - something **new and different** - not like mother, but like
some strange furry creature, or a minotaur?
Well if you're an AGI-er , you deal with the new and different, by
pretending that they don't exist and aren't the problem - as above.
But if you're a real AGI, like an infant, your life is continually dealing
with new and strange things that can't be predicted and don't fall into
pre-existing sets/ categories.
