Hi all, A few years ago, I was planning on getting a Ph.D in some AI-related major. I called off those plans since I was already making enough money as a software engineer, but I'm considering going back to school again. There is a lot of AI knowledge and education that I have a need for now, even if I don't end up working on AGI. Bottom line is I don't want to spend the rest of my life working for tech companies that I have no real mutual goals with.
I only want to go back if it's one of the top schools for AI. Stanford is my first choice since it has a good program and I live near the campus. What are some other schools that have a good AI major? Doesn't have to involve AGI. West coast would be preferred but I'll consider anywhere in the US If it helps, I'm 26 and carried a 4.0 in my community college as a math major before dropping out in 2007.
