I am thinking about this problem daily. But once the entity becomes
sufficiently intelligent enough it could beat the system with its own
weapons. There are thousand opportunities for such an entity to make
money, to gain influence, to interact with thousands of other people on
forums and websites, to write blog posts and even fund Hollywood movies.
So I guess for a superintelligent agent there would be plenty of
possibilities of non-invasive changing of the current framework/paradigm?
I don't think that the brains of the majority are broken but rather
their connectome due to our competitive culture. Rewiring them probably
is beyond our current capabilities (hence my post on the Singularity
list about a singularity of counterproductive local entropy/chaos) but a
potent AGI system should be able to turn the ship around without
eliminating us/changing our connectomes directly? Also it could give
every person capable of cooperating for a greater cause the opportunity
to start over on a different planet and to leave all the "broken
computers" behind?
