The Brain is part of the competition. There are a few things I like about their product and things that I don't. I think for mainly hierarchical relationship capture (with a nod to 'siblings' which they have some support for) they have a pretty nice interface. And you can add notes, tags and so on their nodes. The tag search is rudimentary. There is no real support for say finding all objects related to a given object by a named relationship except by going to that object in the GUI and walking its graph. Which is fine if that is all you needed and you have a platform with their GUI installed rather than say a smart phone at hand. No creating actual classes/types. IIRC you don't really have actual named relation roles much. And there is no general API to query your knowledge so captured. The other thing that ticked me off a bit as a user is that their license only supports 2 systems per > $100 license. Which isn't very good for people like me.
