We are going from bad to worse on this list, first measuring consciousness, 
then the soul, I dare not think what you guys will measure next in your 
reckless pursuit of science :)

But no, Matt's calculations are unlikely to be correct because it is unlikely 
the brain is a one trick pony. From that point of view Penrose is right looking 
for "more", while the actual theories are weak and I think he knows it too. 
Now, about any fallacies, I think the issues of computability etc are too 
subtle to  be resolved conclusively anytime soon, but few people are as 
qualified as Penrose to address them. After all, I too know some things that 
are not ready for the public domain, eg that objects heavier than air cannot 
fly ;)
