I'm going to step forward right now to make a fearless prediction. I predict that the "cerebrocerebellum", the lateral portions of the cerebellum, will be found to have a "Psychotropic" map.
This psychotropic map works like the two sets of somatotropic maps found on the medial portions of this organ. As the cerebrocerebellum evolved along with our frontal and temporal lobes it can be assumed that it has a congruent function to that of the older portions of the brain. The functions of this "psychotropic map" are probably these: 1. The organization of memory replay. -- It helps replay memories in a properly-pased sequence. 2. It is largely responsible the sub-conscious execution of behaviors and even habitual patterns of cognition thereby freeing up the more powerful resources of the cerebrum to do more interesting things as the cerebrum can only time-share and not multitask.
