Hi Ben,

This is re your idea of post-embodiment AGI and the block's world
environment. It might be possible to separate the AGI's sensory
stream into a 3D "block's world" and a 2D "planar world". But I
think there're some problems with it. One problem is that it may
not be able to watch movies on a screen which requires interpreting
planar images in 3D. It may have problems looking at 3D molecular
modeling as well. Not to mention more sophisticated things like
appreciating the strangeness of Escher's drawings.

Generally it seems that an AGI need to have a sensorium very
similar to that of humans in order to have human-like cognition.

Though, you may still experiment on the blocks world, but the
question is whether the concepts that are learned in that world
can be *reused* after your AGI is equipped with a more "natural"
sensorium later.

I may start developing a sensory (especially visual) interface
that might be used by other AGI engines, using a webcam. But the
project may take 1-2 years to start.
