I notice, from your pages, you believe in a mechanistically-based free will. That's interesting to me because you are the first such person of any standing in AGI or related fields, that I have come across. All the others I know of - such as Ben, Pei, Minsky - are hard determinists. And that has been a blackly ironic discovery for me, because it's precisely in the field of adaptive intelligence, that I would expect to find the most free (in every sense) and flexible thinkers. I'd be grateful if you (or anyone else) could tell me if there are any other figures who think at all similarly to you, either in AGI or robotics. (It's strange BTW - or maybe it's just my lack of intellectual travel - that there don't seem to be any forums for robotics comparable to this one & Marvin Minsky's group.
