One thing that I see is a potential to make teaching and learning more of an integral part of gameplay. For instance (just one example), instead of AI bosses to fight, think about ignorant AI apprentices that you teach to do things (including but not only fighting) for you.... Games don't focus on teachable NPC apprentices because the designers don't realize it's possible to have NPC's that genuinely learn...
