I tried to stay on the safe side - after all user's error descriptions are not always as precise as we like to see them :-)
i think it was an old sprint where the hard link of the whiteboard tried to go on. but if there is an old sprint the whiteboard should load with an empty page.
What means 'old sprint'? Did you delete the sprint? Or was it merely closed?
Another problem i have, is that if im adding a new task in the whiteboard (clicking the '+' button in the story fields) a new task is shown, but after pressing F5 or coming back later to the whiteboard the task has disappeared... but its still shown in the ticketreports.
Can you check the ticket detail page? Which sprint is displayed for that task? Is it still connected to the story? Does the task show up in the normal sprint backlog view?
