Hi there, we just noticed that sadly nano is not installed on the virtual machine that we ship. This is unfortunate as we mention it in the manual and it means that all of you will have to use vi to edit text files on the vm - not the most user friendly thing...
While trying to fix this we noticed that the vm is so old already, that the pgp keys that are used to check the signage of the changed update-servers are expired so we cannot easily update the machine to the current release - or simply install nano. :-( This means that it is probably less work to build a new machine from scratch - which we will do for the next release. In the meantime, you can use vi to edit new project settings on the VM or use an editor who is able to edit files via ssh on other machines (perhpas via fuse-ssh-fs or with a tool like Cyberduck on the Mac). Sorry for the inconvenience!
