We use requirements as epics. When a release contains an epic, we break down the epic to linked user stories and assert some (or all) of these user stories to sprints.
Somehow all stories with a link to an epic (requirement) aren`t sorted correctly in sprint view. We then do delete the links between epic and user story to get a correct sorted sprint.
