I tried the same as Andrea and created the milestone backlog only afterwards - however I can not reproduce the problem either...
1. Can you check if the user story was assigned to a sprint/milestone before? 2. Can you check in the database what is stored for the story? ("select * from ticket where id=<ticket id>")
