Ours is a design decision intended to keep the website clean and the information well organized. At the bottom of the Download page, there is already a link to the changelog page I mentioned before, so I don't agree this information is deeply buried. All of our download files contain the version information, if you have found this is not the case can you please point us to the exact link?
