Hi All, I'm wondering if this function is already built into the game somewhere that I'm not aware of? I'm wondering if there's a way to print the _x _y and _z values of the .vector type of self.origin in the console during play? I'm asking as I'd like to get my coordinates while I walk around a map, not for a game, but to find places within a map in order to edit it. I.E. placing things / monsters and such? I could write it into the code for myself, but as with my earlier posts, I don't have a stable workable compilable set of qc files to mod.
So I'm wondering if this function already exists?
In this way, one could edit maps without seeing them, as one can travel to a place in the map, get it's coordinates, and then add or re move an entity at or near those coordinates with an editor. Theoretically, using the noclip command, one could also start with a blank map and in the same way, construct a basic map without needing to see it. Anyway, any help / suggestions / code would be way way way appreciated. <smile>
Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!...
