Ah, <smile> don't worry about giving me more work. <smile>
I'd rather have things be working right than having probs! lol!
But yes, debugging is a pain to say the least! <smile>
Anyway, the only thing I can say is that if it is the case that it's
only with the mod, then I believe it may have more to do with the VFS
(Virtual File System) rather than my coding. What this means is that the
game usually accesses most of its files from within pak files. When you
precache a file from another location, it adds that location to the VFS for
future access during the game.
Now because of this it shouldn't necessarily matter where a file comes
from, but the game has certain quirks where it actually does, so I'm not
sure, but it may be one of them, that it may perhaps take a bit longer to
access necessary files which are not in the native format? This is
absolutely pure speculation on my part and may be completely off! lol!
But the game has surprised me before with things, so I suppose it's
possible.
Really Matthew or Sebby would be more knowledgeable in this area. I'ts
a different aspect of the game than what I'm working on, even though they
overlap.
Anyway, sorry I can't be of more help. And am certainly sorry this is
happening to you. One other thing I will suggest though, is to check your
network / internet connections as this actually can make a big difference
as you probably know, not only in how your on line performance is, but also
how your system runs in general.
This has helped me in the past...
The only other thing I can suggest is enabling the use of more system
resources by the game, which involves editing one of Audio quake's
initialization files. Feel free to write me off list if you feel you might
want to try this.
Have a great day!...

Hello,
If it is the case, then its weird for me, because without the mod it
works fine for me.
I tested on 2 computers (dm, singleplayer, and multiplayer as well).
The first comp is an intel p4, 2.8 ghz, with winXp pro sp2, 256 mb
of ram.
The second, is 3.6 intel p4, ghz, with winxp pro sp2, and with 512
mb of ram.
So, i think everything should be right, but it seems not.
That issue only appears with jq 3.7, however i really don't want to
give you more work, especially because i hate debugging, so i can
imagine how you feel when you have to debug, lol.
Laters all,
Rob

Hi Rob, first off, let me just thank you very much for your
compliments. They're sure appreciated! <smile>
This is in fact a lag, and not related to my mods. I get it too,
but
only on line and only occasionally.
May I ask what your processor is and what speed it runs at? How
are
your system resources?...
Have a wonderful day!...
