Well. You should overwrite the last pak file, in most cases its pak1.pak, thats why the extension has the name pak1.pak. In other words, you shouldn't have mindgrid loaded, since you have to overwrite it with the new pak1.pak file. If your mindgrid pak file named pak2.pak, the rename this to pak2.pak. I am not sure however if the registered version has more than one pak file. If it does, then all you have to do is to put this pak file instead of the mindgrid audio pak. Honestly, i didn't try this with a registered quake, for multiplaying the shareware is good, but if you will encouter more problems, i'll install a registered quake, and will try it out.
