If you're registered, it does have to be pak2.pak.

Well. You should overwrite the last pak file, in most cases its pak1.pak,
thats why the extension has the name pak1.pak.
In other words, you shouldn't have mindgrid loaded, since you have to
overwrite it with the new pak1.pak file.
If your mindgrid pak file named pak2.pak, the rename this to pak2.pak. It
should replace the whole mindgrid audio pak file.
From this case, if you want to restore the registered game, restore
everything (delete the extension from aq's folder, and put the mindgrid
audio file back, and the pak
file which you've deleted.)
I am not sure however if the registered version has more than one pak
file. If it does, then all you have to do is to put this pak file instead
of the mindgrid audio pak.
Honestly, i didn't try this with a registered quake, for multiplaying the
shareware is good, but if you will encouter more problems, i'll install a
registered quake, and will
try it out.

Hi.
Tried the extention, and backed up pak1.pak
However after loading in the extion I was told that I have 2 coppies of
the jmindgrid.
I deleted pak2.pak and the program was satisfied.
however I now can only run shareware version and I had the registered
version before.
