In JQ 4, there is an impulse which can be bound to a keystroke to do just that. After a player uses the mouse, they can call the impulse and it will snap them to the nearest proper compass direction.

Matthew, if you'd like the source code for it, I can either send it to you, or you can dl it from the source folder for JQ 4 from my ftp site, if you'd like to include it in the next release...

I have put on TODO (probably for someone in the future to do, not me) to
add mouse-snapping, or something similar, so that this does'nt happen.
