Haven't seen you on my server at all, would be nice to have some new faces from time to time ya know. Since stats went bye bye, I put my own stats up for both Jedi and overkill on the older quake because as you said, it can be portablised and it's going strong to date. According to the stats website, there have been a total of 379 total players, at least where Jediquake is concerned and that's pretty good going I'd like to think. Obviously that doesn't take into account people that change their names on the fly but there doesn't appear to be that many of those.
In any case,
http://andrelouis.com/qstats for my local server's stats. Is quite interesting to see where people rank, and to know that though Jediquake wasn't played for quite sometime, after it's resurrection, people are still as good as ever.
Must be like riding a bike or something, you never forget how to do it.

Well, don't know if you'll get this, as this list may go byebye, just
curious, are you using an on-board sound card with the Dell? I never
could get AQ to work on Ubuntu I mean the launcher would work, but then
upon starting the actual game the entire x session would restart. I'm
still working on getting it to work on slackware but the latest release
of slackware seems to have issues, or at least with my computer anyway.
The only thing I could see being a problem with using espeak instead of
eflite, is that the launcher and orca may try to read at the same time
and don't know what that would do. Would be interested in knowing what
kind of sound cards you're using.
By the way, welcome, and feel free to visit
deathpool.servequake.com on the default port.
It's not the jedi mod, but good for newbees and classic quakers like me...
I do like the jedi mod however, don't know if you've played that one or
the overkill mod but they're both fun too. I've considered putting
them on my server as well, I know Sebbie did it and I'd do a similar
configuration to keep things simple.
That being, the classic game on the default port or on 27501, the jedi
mod on 27502 and overkill on 27503.
I know Andre Louis has an older version that he's got running the jedi
mod, and his little package is portable, with the world war ii sound
pack, that's pretty cool too, especially the death screams... you can
almost smell the innards!
Take care...
Cheereo!
