Having spent some time with Danie Krige, I note that he himself pronounces kriging with a hard 'g' (as in 'grand' or 'organize'), and not with the guttural Afrikaans 'g' (which of course is how he pronounces his name).
Another pronunciation I have heard is 'krigging' - in other words, a short 'i'.
