What is/are the advantage(s) of direct sequential simulation as opposed to Gaussian simulation of a normal score transformed variable, and back-transforming resulting realisations? In Soares' paper in math.geol. 33(8), he states in his first final remark that "there is no more advantage in using the multiGaussian approach for the sequential simulation...", but to me it's unclear whether there is any disadvantage.

Thanks,
