Dieter, I have always thought it would be useful for both nuclear medicine = technologists and radiographers to join forces professionally. However, = many nuclear med technologists dont think a union with the AIR offers them = any advantages over what they have now. Paul. Mr Paul Lombardo Division Leader - Medical Radiations School of Medical Sciences RMIT University Bundoora West Campus PO Box 71 Bundoora Vic 3083 Australia Tel: +61 3 9925 7942 >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 03/25/03 09:21pm >>> From: Dieter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Rob I agree about the technical aspects of radiation as I said EMR=20 (electro-magnetic radiation) and sound waves 'radiate' but a=20 radiographer=20 does not really descibe a sonographer as many sonographers have little=20 to=20 do with ionising radiation and radiographer implies ionising radiation.. Granted that technician/technologist does not entirely reflect us as=20 professionals but then neither does radiographer. It has been said before, that if all MRS's, MIT's, MRT's, sono's can=20 agree=20 on one solution then nothing could stop us. We just have to agree on=20 something. The Victorian example is close but it still calls us=20 technologists. Nuc Med I presume would come under a similar banner to=20 radiographers as=20 they both use ionising radiation to diagnose disease. Unless they want=20 to=20 be different. They are an unusual lot. (yes I have lots of good Nuc=20 med=20 friends) Any ideas to replace technologist ?
