We check the creatine of all patients who are receiving iodinated iv
contrast prior to injection unless they are out patients. With out
patients it becomes more difficult but the patients are asked if they
know
if they have any kidney problems. High creatine patients (>120) are
discussed with the team looking after the patients to indicate
appropriate
management ie iv fluid or dialysis.
