without checking/measuring the progress of an activity on the server
side its no sense to use ajax. I suppose you cannot check the progress
of your SQL Transaction and only have a statistical value about the
execution time - so it would be better to use just a JavaScript on the
client side that updates a graphical progressbar based on your
statistical execution time.
