Hello,
        I can never get this right. Can any one point to me a sample that
performs a long operations, displays loading.... on the screen and updates
the state of the operation '<div>' after the operation is done. I infact
bought the book beginning Ajax.. but was unable to do it for my project.

Thanks
Sumith

My friend, here you have the best sample page to learn how to use Ajax,
this one is done using Ajax.dll, but you can use AjaxPro.dll instead,
in fact I tested it and it works perfect.
you can use AjaxPro.2.dll if you are using visual studio 2005, I mean,
ASP. Net 2.0.
http://ajax.schwarz-interactive.de/
and here is what you need to write in the web.config file while using
AjaxPro.dll

<httpHandlers>
      <add verb="POST,GET" path="ajaxpro/*.ashx"
type="AjaxPro.AjaxHandlerFactory, AjaxPro" />
    </httpHandlers>

good luck.
