Hi Metasharp, I looked into this awhile back so things might have changed but at that time the binary serialization format was incompatible between Mono and .NET. As far as I could tell at the time this was not seen as a bug in Mono as the .NET serialization code was proprietary and reverse engineering it might have caused legal issues. This only affects environments where you would have a mix of Windows and Linux machines though.
Porting to Linux is a long term target for Alchemi.
