Jonathan,

If somebody wants to get a notification from the forum posts it is simple to
set one up. So as long as it is known that the forums are coming to life
these days I think it is enough and everybody can decide either way.

IMHO for most people it is enough if they monitor the releases. If they have
problems then they will ask or search the archives for previous answers.
