According to the news reports here in Phoenix the Gov't required some specific
abrasive substance to added to the oil and then ran to engine destruction.

There's at least one
video on the AlfaBB of a 164's oil-less engine
being run to destruction under
the Cash for Clunkers program, apparently
a mandated step in the process.

Subject: [alfa] Car theif modus
operandi ?
I had my other non-Alfa vehicle, a 93' Saturn Wagon which I
bought new
and put 304,000 trouble free miles on stolen from a Macy's parking
lot in
Sunnyvale, CA two weeks ago. The car was in great shape other than
being
high mileage. I did most maintenance myself. The police tell me they
eventually recover about 80% of stolen vehicles around these parts. I
really hope the vehicle gets recovered. Is anyone familiar with the average
car thief's motivation? Why take a 93 Saturn? If I claim it on my auto
insurance (blue book is not much $) the insurance company then owns the car
if
it gets recovered. Then they sell it at auction or junk it. Anybody have
experience with having their car stolen?
Thanks,
Marty

Subject: [alfa] Giulia Super Wheel
Offset?
I'm trying to find a nice alloy wheel that will fit my 1973 Giulia
Super and
not take my entire savings account. I'd like one of the Minilite
look-a-likes, or something really cool, but I need to know for sure what
offset I need for my 6x14 wheels. The super has a very tight rear wheel well,
so this is really critical info.
Thanks in advance, ya'll. And I hope
everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
Ciao,
Mike Hemsley on what we're now
calling Mississippi's West Coast
