It does not matter.  If you study the descriptions you provided, then 85
is either ground or hot and 86 is either hot or ground.  That is, if you feed
voltage from the ignition switch to 85, then the ground is 86.  If you feed 86
from the ignition, then 85 is the ground.
   85 and 86 are the energizing circuits.  It does not care which is positive
and which is negative.  They tell the solenoid to energize the other two
terminals.
