Was anyone else as sickened by this as I was? What in God's name is accomplished by destroying a perfectly useful machine of any kind? Deliberately rendering it useless? I'm sorry. y'all, but this is dead against the religion I was raised up in, the one whose Doxology goes:

Use it up,
Wear it out,
Make do or do without.

You use stuff until it needs to be rebuilt, and you keep using it until it can't be rebuilt anymore. This is called Thrift, which me and my kind were brought up to believe was even closer to godliness than cleanliness was.
